Saigon Shipbuilding Industry Company Limited. (SSIC) is one of the large state-own companies in the Southern area of Vietnam, belongs to the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (VINASHIN) with its headquarter at 1027 Pham The Hien Str., Ward 5, District 8, HCMC.
Prior to 1998, the former background of SSIC was Saigon Shipbuilding Company (SSC) belonged to the Ministry of Communication and Transport of Vietnam.
Although there has been a change in logo and company name, but the products quality as well as services supply capacity has been more maintained and enhanced.
SSIC now has 7 subsidiaries in Ho Chi Minh City and 1 branch office in Vungtau City, specializes in multi-fields. The SSIC’s main business was shipbuilding and ship repair of sea-going ships, river vessels and floating installations. The other business fields include: Shipbuilding Design and Consultancy, construction, port operation, shipping Agency/Logistic, import-export machinery – equipment and information technology.
